Help Me Grow: Provides funds for services to eligible expectant parents, newborns, infants, toddlers, and their families. the program includes the components of Central Intake, Referral, and Data Collection; Newborn Baby RN Home Visits, and Ongoing Home Visitation.
Wraparound: Supports children and their families who are experiencing complex problems by organizing a team that assists the family in creating a plan that identifies their family's individual strengths and needs. The Wraparound Plan identifies, mobilizes, and coordinates an array of community services and supports. The family and their team then work to implement the plan and monitor their progress.
Bullying Prevention: The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program has been implemented in eight school districts in Columbiana County. Training is provided for all school staff including administrators, teachers, secretaries, cafeteria and custodial workers, and bus drivers. The program recognizes that all students including the child who bullies others, the child who is bullied, and the bystanders who witness bullying behavior are affected and addresses the needs of each.
Truancy Mediation: Provides programs aimed at increasing school attendance and success and avoiding the necessity of court involvement. Students, families, schools, agencies, and the courts are involved in seeking solutions.
Care Teams: School staff members regularly assess every child in three areas: attendance, academics, and behavior. Referrals to appropriate resources and interventions are made in an effort to help the students improve.
Family Support Team Meetings: For families experiencing a crisis or whose children are at risk for out-of-home placement. Families are provided with a plan which meets their needs in the least restrictive setting.
Respite Services: Provides time for families to rest, recuperate, and re-group when stress is high and the possibility of out-of-home placement exists.
Parent Advocacy: Helps parents become active and educated partners with the systems that serve their children. Educates parents and leads them to resources within the community to meet their child's needs.
